My latest batch of cupcakes have been a favorite of mine. I made butterbeer cupcakes, frosted with the colors of each House of Hogwarts. I added too much milk, combined with heat, which made the frosting run, but they looked great. I swirled two different colors together, so that each cupcake represented a different house.
I've also baked a decent batch of Red Velvet cupcakes. My husband and friends loved them, but I wasn't crazy about them. I'm still trying to work on that recipe. They came out way better than my first ones, that's for sure.
On another note, my sister in law has asked me to bake cupcakes for her wedding! I'm really excited about this, but super nervous that I'll end up just making a fool of myself and the cupcakes will come out terrible. I plan on trying out a bunch of recipes that she's interested in, along with starting to come up with a decoration design for the cupcakes. I didn't go to that cake decorating class, so I'm on my own. I found a bunch of stores on etsy that sell cupcake supplies, along with molds and stuff I can use with fondant or chocolate or even sugar. My husband said he'll buy me a bunch in a few months. He's become really confident in my skills, and thinks I can take this to the next level.
I'm still just trying to get my feet wet in the cupcake world, so who knows.
Well I think personally that you can do great. I think the HP ones you made are super cute :) In the future I can see a cute little shop called "Misty's Cupcakes" somewhere that is super busy and you being very successful at it :)
ReplyDeleteLove you!
Haha, thanks Jess. I've been thinking of a name for my cupcake business, if I ever get that far, and I finally came up with one I love! Silver Lining Cupcakes! Silver because of Sterling's name! Hahaha :)
